SUMMARY:Substation Maintenance: Power Transformer Diagnostic Testing and Maintenance (e-Learning)
DESCRIPTION:CLICK here to REGISTER \nThis 12–16-hour practical course provides you with methods and procedures used internationally in maintaining and testing power transformers in substations. This course will be discussing the difference and importance of Predictive\, Periodic and Condition based maintenances in transformer; that may help maintenance personnel in planning and executing maintenance programs in power transformers. The course will also be focusing on the basic theoretical concept of transformers\, how they are manufactured and know different part to maintain. The course will teach attendees to conduct correct testing procedures\, what test to perform\, evaluation of test data versus international guidelines and mitigation of findings. The course content does not include intensive DGA (dissolved gas analysis) and oil tests evaluation. \nIn this technical training\, participants will be guided on how to become a knowledgeable maintenance engineer and improve his knowledge based on international standards to safely maintain and prolong power transformers in their respective fields. \nWho should attend: \nThis course will enhance the understanding and increase competencies for: \n\nEngineers & technicians in the utilities handling substation maintenance\nEngineers and electricians in commercial and industrial maintenance\nElectrical consultants and designers and electrical project managers\nElectrical engineering graduates who would like to be test engineers and Technicians for substation\n\nCourse outline: \nAt the end of the program\, the participants will be able to: \n\nDiscuss basic transformer theoretical\nKnow different parts of the transformer\, what to look and what to maintain\nKnow different international standards used for evaluating transformer test\nWhen to execute transformer maintenance and diagnostic testing in timely\nEnumerate basic oil and transformer testing methodology\nKnow different testing methodologies and correct testing\nIdentify and evaluate obtained results\nDiscuss test results and know basic corrections in findings DAY 1 (8 hours)\n\n\nPOWER TRANSFORMER THEORY:\n\nIntroduction\nTheory of Operation\nElectromagnetism\nMagnetic Circuits\nClassification of Transformers\nLosses in Transformers\nPerformance Tests\nBasic Insulation System\nTransformer Rating\nTransformer Connections\n\n\n\n\nPower Transformer Parts and Maintenance\n\nTypes of Power Transformer\nMajor and minor components\nBasic maintenance\, what to look\, test and maintain\nIndicators and alarms\nCooling classifications\nNameplate information\nPeriodic\, Predictive and Condition Based Maintenances\nTypes of Maintenance done in a power transformer\nTypes of diagnostic tests done in a power transformer\n\n\nTheory and Procedures for Transformer Electrical Test\n\nInsulation Power Factor Test\nInsulation Resistance Test\nTransformer Turns Ratio Test\nVector Group Test\nWinding Resistance Test\nSpecial Test Topics\n\n\nExcitation Test / No Load Test\nBushing IPF Test\n\n\nImpedance Test / Short Circuit Test\n\n\nSFRA Test\nDGA and Oil Quality Test\n\nNew technologies in diagnostic testing\n\n\n\n\nSpecial Topics as per Client Request\n\nDielectric Test\nTemperature Rise\nPressure Test for Oil Leaks and Possible Tank Problems\nAcoustic Noise Level\nAcceptable Harmonics Levels on Transformers\nLosses and Power Taken by Transformers Accessories\nTest on Transformer Accessories\n\n\n\nDAY 2 (6 hours) \n\n: POWER TRANSFORMER TESTING\n\nSafety procedures in conducting electrical tests\nEvaluation and presentation of findings\nCase studies\nQuestion and Answer\n\n\n\n \nRegistration Instructions:  \n1.
