Infrared thermography is one of the most valuable tools available for inspecting electrical systems. Too often, the use of the technology falls short of its potential full value. Why? A primary reason is our failure to understand the basic heat transfer science involved and, thus, misinterpret the thermal signature of a component possibly headed toward “Thermal Anomaly” failure.

Thermography, with its ability to locate small temperature differences, provides advance warning of impending failure and be used as an effective tool in identifying the locations of a suspect components.

 Objectives:

In this module, attendees will learn:

  1. Safety in performing Infrared Inspection
  2. Importance in attaining a theoretical background in any technique prior to attempting and performing thermographic inspections
  3. Maximize the value of the Infrared Camera used in different applications
  4. Know the methodology to Non-destructive Testing / Maintenance
  5. Know how to interpret data and generate a good report using standard guidelines
  6. Know shooting techniques in practical hands on
  7. Know advance level techniques in analyzing data and generating report

Who Should Attend:

  1. Engineering Managers
  2. Electrical Engineers
  3. Test engineers
  4. Cadet engineers
  5. Substation engineers
  6. Maintenance Engineers / Electricians
